Cut stone cladding for the outside of a villa

Natural stone is the traditional facade material in the Emirates and still the one most villa owners come back to: it reads as solid rather than applied, it holds its colour in strong sun far better than paint or render, and it can be worked into columns, cornices and window surrounds that no sheet material can reproduce. We supply it by the square metre and fix it with our own crews.

  • Facades: Full or partial cladding of villa and building elevations, in regular courses or mixed-format patterns.
  • Columns, arches and cornices: Worked pieces for columns, capitals, arches, cornices and window and door surrounds.
  • Boundary walls and gates: Walls and entrance piers clad to match the elevation, so the plot reads as one building.
  • Interior feature walls: Feature walls and internal entrances in plain or carved stone.

What we stock

Surface finishes

  • Smooth: An even, lightly dressed face - the quietest option and the easiest to keep clean.
  • Split face: A rough, riven face with a strong shadow line, normally used on boundary walls and lower storeys.
  • Carved: Pieces worked with geometric patterns for entrances, panels and feature areas.

Colours

Beige · Cream · White · Sand

Stone is a quarried product, so the exact types on the ground change from shipment to shipment and shade varies between batches. We send photographs of what is in stock at the time you ask, and we size an order from one batch wherever the elevation allows.

From elevation drawing to finished facade

  1. Send the elevation: A drawing, or photographs of each face of the building with approximate dimensions, is enough for us to work out areas.
  2. Selection: We send photos of the stone available and price the plain cladding separately from worked pieces - columns, cornices and arches carry different rates.
  3. Measure and cut: Quantities are set from the elevation, including returns, reveals and the cutting allowance.
  4. Fixing: Stone is fixed to the prepared substrate and the courses set out so joints line through across the elevation.
  5. Pointing and cleaning: Joints are pointed and the face cleaned down after fixing.

Why buy it from us

Supply or supply-and-fix

Contractors with their own masons buy the stone by the square metre; owners get the facade finished by our crews.

Worked pieces as well as flat cladding

Columns, capitals, arches and cornices come from the same order as the plain cladding, so the stone matches.

Matched to the rest of the plot

Boundary walls, entrance piers, the paved yard and the marble inside can be specified together.

Photographs of real stock

You see what is actually in the yard before ordering, not a catalogue picture.

Natural stone, paint or reconstituted stone?

The three finishes most villa elevations in the Emirates end up choosing between - compared on how they look after some years, not on handover day.

Natural stonePaint or renderReconstituted stone
Holding colour in the sunThe colour is the stone, so there is no printed layer to fadeFades and crazes under UV and heat; needs redoing every few yearsFades more slowly than paint, faster than quarried stone
How it readsReal depth and texture, and no two pieces identicalA flat surface with no textureA repeating pattern that becomes visible once you notice it
Worked piecesColumns, capitals, arches and cornices cut from the same stoneOnly through GRC mouldings, which need their own maintenanceMoulded units in a limited range of sizes
Up-front costThe highest of the threeThe lowestBetween the two
MaintenanceWashing down, and repointing a joint occasionallyA full repaint on a cycleReplacing damaged units
Repairing one areaThe affected piece is swapped outThe new paint rarely matches the weathered paint around itDepends on the same batch still being available

Paint is the right answer for a rented building, for an elevation you expect to reface within a few years, or where budget is the binding constraint - and there is no point pretending otherwise. Where the villa is being lived in long-term and you would rather not come back to the facade, the up-front difference is recovered over the repaint cycles you do not pay for, and the texture and the worked pieces are things no alternative reproduces.

Frequently asked questions

Which natural stone types do you supply?

Beige, cream, white and sand-toned stone with smooth, split-face or carved surfaces. Because stone is quarried, the exact types in the yard change with each shipment - ask and we will send photographs of what is available now.

Do you install, or only supply?

Both. Stone can be delivered to your site by the square metre, or supplied and fixed by our own facade crews.

How is a facade priced?

By the stone type and thickness, the elevation area in square metres, and the quantity of worked pieces - columns, cornices, arches and surrounds are priced separately from flat cladding. Send the elevation drawing or photographs of the building and we quote against it.

Does natural stone hold up in the UAE climate?

It is the traditional facade material here and performs well in heat and humidity when a suitable stone is chosen and it is fixed correctly. The two things that cause problems are the wrong stone for the exposure and poor fixing, not the climate itself.

Can you match stone on an existing building?

Send photographs and, if possible, a sample or an offcut. We will tell you honestly whether what we have is a close match - quarried stone varies, so an exact match across a gap of several years is not always possible.
