Concrete interlocking pavers, laid on compacted sand - no mortar
Interlock (known throughout the UAE as "Pasco") is a concrete block cast in a geometric shape that locks into its neighbours. The blocks are laid over a compacted base and a levelling sand layer rather than bedded in mortar, so the surface carries load, drains rainwater between the joints, and can be lifted and relaid in sections - which is why a damaged area or a service trench never means redoing the whole yard.
- Where it goes: Villa courtyards and entrances, driveways and vehicle crossings, car parks, garden walkways, sidewalks and building forecourts.
- Designs: UNI Blocks, Quadro, Sultaniya, Behaton, Lotus and Ventagilio, plus hexagonal, square and rectangular slabs and a three-colour 3D cube pattern.
- Colours: Grey, black/charcoal, beige/sand, red/terracotta, yellow and brown, subject to current stock.
- Thickness: Chosen per application - pedestrian areas and vehicle areas are not the same - and confirmed with your quotation.
- Service: Supply only if you have your own crew, or supply and installation including base preparation, sand bedding, compaction and kerbstones.
- Where we work: Abu Dhabi and Al Ain regularly; Dubai, Sharjah and the other emirates for suitable project sizes.

The six interlock designs we supply
Block dimensions are taken from the manufacturer's drawings. Thickness and colour are confirmed against current stock when we quote.
| Design | Block size | Shape | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|
| UNI Blocks | 22.5 × 11.25 cm | Zigzag block (a soft I shape) that locks into its neighbours on both sides | Walkways, sidewalks, car parks, villa courtyards, gardens |
| Quadro | 20 cm octagon + 8 cm infill square | Octagonal block laid with small squares filling the corners | Villa walkways, courtyards, building entrances, gardens |
| Sultaniya | 24.8 × 17.5 cm | S-curved block that interlocks in a wave | Walkways, villa courtyards, heritage-style areas and gardens |
| Behaton | 20 × 16.5 cm | H-shaped (double-T) block that locks on four sides | Car parks, vehicle entrances, commercial yards, internal roads |

Villa driveways and vehicle entrances
Anything cars drive over needs the strongest interlock and a properly compacted base. Behaton locks on four sides and UNI Blocks lock on two, so those are the two we normally put forward for driveways and crossings, in a thickness matched to the load.
Villa courtyards and entrances
Courtyards are where the decorative designs earn their place. Quadro takes a contrasting infill square for borders and motifs, Lotus gives a scalloped surface, and Ventagilio lays in a fan pattern that suits a formal entrance.
Car parks and commercial yards
Large trafficked areas are usually laid in Behaton or UNI Blocks with kerbstone edging and falls set for drainage. Bays and circulation routes can be picked out in a second colour instead of paint, which does not wear off.
Walkways, gardens and landscaping
Garden paths and walkways are pedestrian, so the design is a free choice: Sultaniya for a traditional look, Quadro or rectangular slabs with a contrasting border for a defined edge. Individual blocks lift out later for irrigation or lighting work.
Sidewalks and building forecourts
Public-facing pavements and forecourts generally use square or rectangular paving slabs, often white with a black or beige banding pattern, matching what is already laid on Abu Dhabi streets.
How we lay interlock
- Ground preparation: Excavate or fill to the required level, then grade and compact the base with the falls needed to drain water away from the building.
- Edge restraint: Set kerbstones or a concrete edge around the area. Without a restrained edge the blocks creep outwards and the joints open.
- Sand bedding: Spread and screed an even sand layer over the compacted base.
- Laying: Lay the blocks to the agreed pattern, cutting the closure pieces at the edges and around manholes and planters.
- Compaction and jointing: Run a plate compactor over the surface and brush fine sand into the joints, which is what actually creates the interlock.
Maintenance
Interlock needs washing down and the joint sand topped up occasionally. A cracked block is swapped out on its own without touching the surrounding area, so it is worth keeping a small quantity of the same batch on site - colours shift slightly between production runs.

Why buy it from us
One supplier for the whole villa
Pavers for the yard, natural stone for the facade and marble inside come from us on one quotation, so the colours are chosen together and there is one contact for the whole job.
Supply or supply-and-install
Contractors who only need material get delivery to site. Owners who want the surface finished get our own laying crews.
We lay what we sell
The crews that install are the same operation that supplies the blocks, so base preparation, edging and cutting are quoted as part of the work rather than left to someone else.
Samples before you commit
We send photographs of what is actually in stock, or bring samples to site, before anything is ordered.
Where we supply and install
Talk to us
Send the area, the city and what the surface is for. We reply with a price for supply, or supply and installation, and confirm what is in stock.

Frequently asked questions
Is Pasco the same thing as interlock?
Yes. "Pasco" is what concrete interlocking pavers are called locally in the UAE; the material is the same. We use both names for the same product.
Are you a supplier or an installation contractor?
Both. You can buy the pavers for delivery to your site, or have us supply and install them - base preparation, sand bedding, laying, cutting, compaction and kerbstones included.
Which interlock design is best for a villa driveway?
For anything vehicles drive over we normally recommend Behaton, which locks on four sides, or UNI Blocks. The thickness matters as much as the design and is chosen for the expected load when we quote.
How much does interlock installation cost per square metre in Abu Dhabi?
We do not publish a fixed rate, because the price moves with the design, the thickness, the total area, the condition of the ground and whether kerbstones and excavation are included. Send the approximate area and a photo of the site on WhatsApp and you get a real figure for your job rather than a range.
How long does a villa courtyard take?
It depends on the area, how much excavation and base work the ground needs, and paver availability. We confirm a duration together with the quotation rather than estimating it before seeing the site.
Do you cover Al Ain, Dubai and Sharjah?
Abu Dhabi and Al Ain are covered regularly. Dubai, Sharjah and the other emirates are taken on where the project size justifies the delivery, so send us the location and quantities and we will confirm before you commit.
